In this video we will be showing you how to install the UWF-1 Wireless Adapter to connect your AV receiver to your home network. The optional UWF-1 is available for network-capable Onkyo A/V receivers (TX-NRxx9 and later) and stereo receivers (e.g. TX-8050).

I bought an Onkyo TX-NR626: the remote control is a cheap piece of junk and so I bought the UWF-1 wifi dongle but it shows up as "empty USB" stick when I try to set it up.Onkyo ought to get its act together as far as connectivity goes!Great sound, just so 20th century when it comes to connectivity. UX is as important as sound & image quality.
Hi, is HT-S4505 compatible with ONKYO UWF-1 Dongle USB x WiFi? The aim is to stream music directly from my smartphone. Is there any compatibility spec I need to take into account if I choose a different dongle (i.e. Tp-Link TL-WN725N 150 Mbps Wireless N Nano USB Adapter)? Thanks in advance for your support!
After working for a while, Android Remote App will not work with TX-NR809 with UWF-1 on several phones. Receiver states that the network is connected and fine. Signal strength 50%. What could be the issue?
Hi, I have a onkyo TX-8050 and I'm using the UWF 1 for the internet connection. STH is wrong because every time i go to vTuner the message appears: NO ITEM. And when I try to update firmware vie network, the message DNS Error appears and the receiver freezes. Any idea? Thank you, DB
i have an Onkyo HT-RC360 receiver and the UWF-1 WiFi adapter (and also using the onkyo remote control app for android)... after working fine for a while now i can not get it to connect. when plugging it into the USB port of the receiver i get "now initializing" and then "no storage" and that's it...what's wrong? how can i see if the UWF-1 is 'alive'?
Hello!Im using a Onkyo 609 Surround Reciever and I'm tryin to connect to my WiFi using the UWF-1. The receiver detects the wireless network and the signal is fine but it does not connect. My router is a Apple Time Capsule. Please help or advice!
Hi Magnas, are you running dual band ? if so please change it to b/g only and fix the wireless channel to 12 or 13 and see if that helps
I do think this is above my network skills. How come every other wireless device works perfectly with the current settings but the Onkyo does not?
Please try resetting the AVR and then power cycle the time capsule.
can i stream music from the ipad to onkyo tx nr 3009 with a uwf-1 usb adapter? using spotify on the ipad ? How to do it.?
Hi Preben, the 3009 will stream via the Onkyo app the music that is on your iPad, or I would use the spotify that is built into the 3009 ( premium account only)
I am using remote app 2. Remote sbx dosent work. I have done it. Its working know.
Will the UWF-1 work with HT-S6505?
Hello Lasse, the 6505 is UBT 1 updatable only. The UWF1 is not supported.
Hi, I have a onkyo TX-8050 and I'm using the UWF 1 for the internet connection. Everything is working fine, but the almost everytime I start the onkyo the internet connection is lost (for using spotify and vTuner internetradio). Then i have to go to USB and do a 'refresh'. After one or two 'refreshes' it goes back to work. Sometimes, when I listen a while to spotify or vTuner (vTuner messages 'cannot play'), the internetconnection 'disconnects' and then I have to do a refresh again. Can this be fixed in any way??? Thx in advance!
have you tried changing the transmission channel on your router & taken a look at giving the 8050 a fixed IP instead of DHCP.
Thx. I've changed the transmission channel and I have already a better signal, but giving a fixed IP is more difficult. I'll keep trying...any tips? Meanwhile it seems I have more difficulties with 'entering' spotify, while vTuner and Aupeo are working better. Strange isn't it?
Hi Onkyo,I have some questions regarding the UWF-1 wireless adaptor (European model if that is important):1) Is it compatible with the TX-NR818 receiver (European model again)?2) On the above receiver can it be installed on either the front or the rear USB ports?3) It is stated on your website that the UWF-1 does not work with networks with a hidden SSID. Does this mean that the SSID needs to be broadcast at all times for the UWF-1 to work, or does it only need to be broadcast during initial connection to the network, and then could be hidden afterwards and still allow the UWF-1 to operate? Thanks
Dear Mr. Perry, answers to your questions: 1 - yes; 2 - only front (you probably will damage the rear usb, because it needs more power); 3 - the SSID must not be hidden when using the UWF-1 (not only during setup, but also during use).
Hi Peter, the SSID needs to be broadcast all of the time for the UWF-1 to work
Hmm, seems less than ideal, so an iPod can only use the front USB and so can the UWF. And I've never heard of a wi-fi device that needs the SSID broadcast after initial setup. Follow up question: With the UWF-1 plugged into the front USB slot, will the front flap be able to fully close? Thanks
Dear Mr. Perry, the front flap will not close if you use the UWF-1.
Thanks for that answer. Seems like it would be better if the UWF-1 could be used in the rear USB slot. otherwise it only seems to get in the way. Maybe something to consider for your future products?
